No-Gi Jiu Jitsu

We recommend wearing athletic or compression shorts, spats, or tights, as well as long or short-sleeved rash guards or shirts.

MMA & Striking

Like no-gi Jiu Jitsu, we recommend wearing athletic or compression shorts, spats, or tights, as well as long or short-sleeved rash guards or shirts. In addition, fighting and protection gear is needed such as boxing gloves and shin guards.

The 10 Commandments of Jiu Jitsu

  1. Thou shalt respect EVERYONE.
  2. Thou shalt NOT ignore the instructor. Listen and learn – it’s why we’re here.
  3. Thou shalt keep off the mat if thou art sick – keep your partners healthy.
  4. Thou shalt NOT be a mat bully. (Remember: there is always someone bigger and stronger than you.)
  5. Thou shalt NOT go barefoot in the bathroom and thou shalt NOT wear shoes on the mats.
  6. Thou shalt invest in nail clippers. If you are not a majestic eagle, clip your talons.
  7. Thou shalt NOT be afraid to tap! Thou shalt tap early and often – learning is the goal; injury is the enemy.
  8. Thou shalt SHOW HEART and not give up when you’re in a tough spot.
  9. Thou shalt wash thy gi after EVERY class. We repeat: EVERY class.
  10. Thou shalt NOT celebrate after tapping a partner.
