About Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

With time, our students will learn to apply numerous types of joint manipulations, chokes, and muscle slicing submissions for the purpose of stopping an attacker or opponent.
An inclusive self-defense discipline that promotes body confidence while improving overall health and fitness through aerobic and anaerobic exercise, this training can be utilized for competitive purposes – in grappling tournaments or mixed martial arts – and exercise (burning upward of 800 calories per hour, but is absolutely invaluable for self-defense.

Gi Jiu Jitsu
Gi Jiu Jitsu is a form of Jiu Jitsu grappling that includes the use of a traditional gi jacket, pants, and belt. While working within the gi, you are able to use your training partner or opponent’s clothing to improve your own position, attain submissions, etc. Because of the added element of the gi, there are differences in grip as well as pace due to the natural friction of the gi.
No-Gi Jiu Jitsu
No-gi Jiu Jitsu is a form of Jiu Jitsu grappling that excludes the use of the traditional uniform. Instead, students and competitors commonly wear grappling/compression shorts or spats/tights and rash guards or shirts. Unlike in the gi, in no-gi grappling, you are not permitted to grip, grab, or otherwise use your training partner or opponent’s clothing.
